Describes the reassessment of iron ore resources using several computer programs, the development of process flows using new processes, the preparation of new re-mining plans and the determination of the site of a new plant. Based on various assessment results, the geological reserve of the Hassenlebi deposit is determined to be 3.2 billion tons and the recoverable reserves of the East Mine to be developed at the new plant are 94.0 million tons. Therefore, this new treatment plant is regarded as one of Turkey’s Mining base occupies an important position. The mine has set up a mining base with an annual output of 7.5 million tons of iron ore ores and 1.5 million tons of pellets containing 69% (Fe3 O483%) of iron ore. The service period of the mines can be up to 14 years. The total investment of this project is about 145 billion U.S. dollars, providing 183 jobs. The study of the Hassen-Liebherr deposit shows that the project investment is credible, however, a final feasibility study and assessment must be conducted.
