概念图理论,是由美国康奈尔大学诺瓦克教授等人在20世纪60年代提出的,它基于奥苏贝尔有意义学习理论,是一种以科学命题的形式显示概念之间的意义联系,并用具体事例加以说明,从而把所有概念有机联系起来的空间网络结构图。在课堂教学中运用概念图策略有助于学生建构知识、组织信息和形成稳定的知识网络。我们知道,知识的构建是从利用已有的概念,对事物进行观察和认识开始的。学习就是建立一个概念网络,并不断向网络中添加新的知识。学习者需要把新知识与已有知识联系起来,并与现有的认知结构相互作用、充分整合。概念图正是一种组织与表征知识
