郑定富,1933年6月出生于四川省沐川县黄丹乡一个普通的农民家庭。1950年下半年,抗美援朝的浪潮在万里神州涌起,17岁的郑定富和许多热血青年一样积极报名参军,加入到了保卫新中国、捍卫世界和平的行列中。身高1.79m、身手敏捷的他,在新入伍的青年中特别抢眼。部队领导把他单独挑了出来,问他能不能跑路,他自信地回答到:“四川人,成天与山路打交道,没少爬山越岭!”部队领导笑着拍了拍他的肩膀说:“好样的,你就到侦察班吧!”
Zhengding Fu, born in June 1933 in Huangdan Township, Muchuan County, Sichuan Province, an ordinary peasant family.
