Foreword Advancing the new urbanization process and establishing the concept of ecological civilization are the major arrangements for implementing the scientific concept of development in our country. Urbanization is the only way to bring the economic and social development to modernization, and it is also a necessary reflection of the structural optimization and upgrading in the geographical space. Yunnan, as an underdeveloped province with a set of “frontier, nation, mountainous areas and poverty”, urgently needs to rely on urbanization to gather the elements of development and realize intensive development so as to effectively promote the scientific and harmonious development of Yunnan Province.
