图书馆具有为发展生产力服务的作用,为发展生产力服务是建设文明图书馆的内涵,而建设文明图书馆就必须借助于收集、整理、储存和流通等一切必要的手段为发展生产力服务。一、文明图书馆建设应把发展生产力作为重要标准文明单位是时代号召的响应者,时代精神的贯注者,时代要求的体现者。文明图书馆的建设必须以更高的标准作为衡量自己的工作尺度,能否为发展生产力服务是检验图书馆工作的根本标准。党的十三大报告中明确指出:“社会主义社会的根本任务

The construction of a civilized library must be based on a higher standard as a yardstick of its own work. Whether it can serve the development of the productive forces is the fundamental criterion for testing library work. The 13th CPC National Congress report clearly states: “The fundamental task of socialist society.”
