矿井瓦斯历来被视为煤矿中几大灾害之一。全国解放以后,在毛主席的革命路线指引下,在党中央的关怀和重视下,各级领导认真贯彻了党的安全生产方针,我国煤炭工业战线的广大革命职工,在与矿井瓦斯作斗争中取得了显著的成绩,积累了丰富的经验,这一自然灾害已被基本制服。矿井抽放瓦斯就是其中的一个方面,目前全国已有几十个矿井进行了抽放瓦斯,方式和类型发展为多种多样,并将有更多的矿井正着手和准备抽放瓦斯。
