高3.1米、长7米的巨幅油画《世纪大典》,由路璋·陈国力·张自强·路昊应国家文化部迎香港回归“中国艺术大展”组委会特约而创作。从去年7月到今年5月,历时11个月完成。已参加庆香港回归一周年“中国艺术大展”。该画以1997年7月1日0时中英香港政权交接仪式为题材,集中、凝炼地表现了这一震撼世界的、具有历史意义的世纪庆典。作品以写实、凝重和恢弘的风格,突出地表现了这一激动人心的时刻所凝聚的时代精神和历史苍茫感,使之具有了鲜明的文献性、纪实性和历史性等特点。作者以充盈的民族精神和时代激情,将这一中华民族二十世纪以来最重大的事件之一凝定于瞬间,使其永载青史,彪炳千秋。在创作中,作者以大量图片和影像资料为参照,但又不囿于资料,而是在照片等基础上对特定的情境予以提炼、集中和凝结,经过审美和艺术的创造,使之成为近年来难得的一件艺术精品。作品大气磅礴,势态非凡,格调高昂,洋溢着恒久的魅力。整个画面以浓重的红色为基调,间以黑色的庄重,呈现出热烈、厚重和辉煌的气势,具有极强的视觉感染力和冲击力。画面强调直线与方形的造型,烘托出整体结构的浑厚与凝重,并且注重动静结合、以静为主的构图形
