Since 1944 Waksman et al made of streptomycin, soon after being used in clinical treatment. Because of its inhibitory effect on a variety of pathogenic bacteria, the treatment of tuberculosis is particularly significant effect, so the advent of the drug, is that many dangerous diseases from death, many patients therefore shorten the course of the disease. However, it also brings another kind of misfortune to some patients. The most common ones are streptomycin-induced deafness and vestibular disorder. As the consequences of auditory impairment than vestibular damage is more serious, so this article will focus on the previous question. With regard to deafness, from the otolaryngologist’s point of view, quite exacerbated. In recent years, out-patient deafness causes of the classification of patients, the proportion of streptomycin poisoning gradually increased, many children have therefore become deaf and dumb. Take the survey data of deafness in a city as an example, of the more than 500 deaf and dumb children enrolled before 1954, only one was streptomycin,
