2013年,望城经开区紧紧围绕“建设工业化与城市化相协调、二三产业相配套的现代化工业新城”的战略目标,牢牢把握“打造千亿级、进军国家队”的工作定位,抓项目、稳增长、促发展、保稳定,推动了各项工作走在全省同级园区前列。2013年,望城经开区完成规模工业总产值513.3亿元,同比增长22.1%,占全区总量的78%;完成规模工业增加值125亿元,同比增长21.3%;完成财税总收入25.62亿元,同比增收5.56亿元,增长27.74%;完成固定资产投资161.6亿元,同比增长34.7%;完成工业投资158.9亿元,同比增长38.1%;完成技改投资115亿元,同比增长18.6%;完成社会消费品零售总额1.01亿元;新增规模以上工业企业7家。全年引进联东U谷等优质项目36个;旺旺乳饮、金荣科技、经阁铝材、有色靶材等27个项目启动建设;统一马口铁罐、博翔纺织已基本建成;万家乐、长沙起重机厂、金锐科技等24个项目顺利投产;铺排中航起落架一二期、航天磁电二期等22个续扩建项目加紧建设;马桥河路南延
