夏夜,微风送爽,公园的小花散发着沁人的清香。一位少女盯着夜空那时隐时现的萤火虫在感叹:这小东西多么有趣,在茫茫黑暗中,它就以那点微弱的光亮,却给人以新的向往。她动心了,追捕着这个燃烧着小生命的萤火……。这是影片《萤火》中一个动人的寓意深刻的镜头。影片《萤火》是根据北京市五十五中学模范共青团员刘玲的先进事迹改编的。但是剧作者在改编时并没有拘泥于真人真事,而是卓越地运用现实主义典型化手法,撷取了这位共青团员短暂一生中最闪光的几个片断,塑造了燃尽自己、照亮别人的柳莹这个感人的形象,是一部对青少年进行社会主义精神文明教育的好影片。
