电离辐射导致DNA损伤主要有:单链断裂(SSBs)、双链断裂(DSBs)、不同类型碱基损伤(BD)、及DNA-蛋白质交联。此种不同类型损伤在染色体畸变成因的重要性仍在讨论,高LET辐射诱发的双链断裂较低LET辐照者多。低LET辐射诱发互换型畸变产额符合直线-平方模式:Y=αD+βD~2+C。α部分是一击畸变,在人淋巴细胞修复时间短于20分钟;而β部分是二击畸变,修复时间是2小时以内。
The DNA damage caused by ionizing radiation are mainly single strand breaks (SSBs), double strand breaks (DSBs), different types of base damage (BD), and DNA-protein cross-links. The importance of such different types of damage in the genesis of chromosomal aberrations is still under discussion. High LET radiation-induced double-strand breaks are associated with lower LET irradiations. Low LET radiation-induced exchange-type distortion yields fit linear-squared mode: Y = αD + βD ~ 2 + C. The α part is a one-click distortion, which takes less than 20 minutes to repair human lymphocytes, while the β part is a second-click distortion with a repair time of less than 2 hours.
