1996年3月4日,第六届中国(汕头)兰花博会在汕头市潮汕体育馆隆重开幕。来自全国各地及香港、台湾、日本、韩国、澳大利亚等国家和地区逾千多兰友汇聚一堂,切磋兰艺,交流经验。潮汕体育馆的室内运动场,装修一新,设置了100多个展台,展出近3000盆多姿多彩的兰花精品,还有80多幅颂扬兰文化的名人书画,可谓全国兰花之荟萃。兰艺已经发展到一个崭新的境界。这届兰花博览会的盛况,可用“规模大,联谊广,格调高,效应好”四句话来概括。
