地层单位 字、界、系、统……与地质年代单位:宙、代、纪、世…….两种单位分别对应着同一个代表符号.因此,我们在使用中应注意区分,不可混用.地层 是指地球发展的某个过程中,所形成的成层岩石,其中以层状的沉积岩、变质岩、火山岩为主.其单位:宇、界、系、统……等,代表不同的分级.若写明某界、某系、某统……,这就限定了它所代表的地层的物质沉积时间和在空间中的垂向分布.如;认定某地层是石碳系,即形成这一地层的物质是在石碳纪这个时期沉积的;在空间的垂向分布上,它的下伏地层是泥盆系,上覆地层是二迭系(指正常层序).

The two units correspond to the same representative symbol, therefore, we should pay attention to the use of distinction, can not be mixed. Stratum refers to stratigraphic rocks formed in some process of the earth’s development, of which stratified sedimentary rocks, metamorphic rocks and volcanic rocks are the main parts of the strata. If a certain boundary, a certain system, a certain system ..., it defines the material deposition time and the vertical distribution in space of the strata it represents. A stratigraphic material was deposited during the Carboniferous period; in the vertical distribution of space, its underlying strata were Devonian and the overlying strata were Permian (normal sequence).
