本剧是一部典型的西部风格的科幻剧,走的是“神剧”《萤火虫》的路线《抗争》是由同名游戏改编而成的科幻剧,讲述的是未来的地球人和外来各大种族生物之间的抗争。整体上来看,故事的风格类似于《萤火虫》,男主角更是穿上皮衣,打扮成只有在西部片才会出现的形象示人。或许是为了避免故事的单一性,在剧情上的创造可以说是空前庞大。庞大的世界仅仅在片中刚刚透露出来就已经有许多我们觉得新奇的外星生物。而作为主打科幻的剧集,化装的强大也不得不让我们佩服。
