Objective: To explore the clinical significance of EEG in the diagnosis of tuberculous meningitis. Methods: The clinical manifestations, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and electroencephalogram (EEG) findings of 48 patients with tuberculous meningitis were analyzed retrospectively. Results: The abnormal rate of EEG in patients with tuberculous meningitis was 82.25%. The abnormal rate was correlated with the clinical manifestations of patients with disturbance of consciousness, abnormal cerebrospinal fluid composition and elevated intracranial pressure. The changes of EEG and the changes of patients’ condition There is parallel development. Conclusion: The results of EEG in most patients with tuberculous meningitis are abnormal. EEG has extremely important clinical significance for the early diagnosis, assessment of disease and prognosis of tuberculous meningitis.
