Built in North Korea’s first open-air museum North Korea Folk Village, located about 41 km south of Seoul, Yongin. It opened to the public on October 4, 1974. During this period, following the government’s measures to promote industrialization and technological development in the early 1960s, the traditional way of life in South Korea rapidly became Western. The traditional way of life includes eating habits, the possibility of extinction of traditional architecture and clothing, and the persistence of efforts to preserve some traditional folk customs led to the founding of Korea Folk Village.
