Objective To investigate the correlation between serum C-reactive protein (CRP) and chronic cerebral perfusion insufficiency (CCCI). Methods A total of 142 newly diagnosed cases were diagnosed in the Hepatitis C Hospital of Heilongjiang Province and 142 in the normal control group. This case-control study matched age and sex as a matching factor for 1: 1 individuals to compare the differences in CRP levels between case and control groups. The quartiles of CRP levels were grouped and conditional logistic regression was used to analyze the relative risk. Results The CRP level in case group was higher than that in control group (Z = -3.69, P <0.001). After adjusting for various confounding factors, the results showed that the risk of CCCI in the highest quartile of serum CRP level was low 3.08-fold (OR = 3.08, 95% CI: 1.27-7.46). Conclusion There may be a correlation between the elevated serum CRP and the risk of CCCI.
