I. Overview With the development of finite element and the use of computer calculation, accurate calculation and analysis can be performed on the structure of the rotary table of an excavator with complex force conditions and high statically determinate order. We analyzed the W_4-60 excavator turntable structure using finite element. To verify the reliability and accuracy of the analysis, the structure of the turntable was tested. The test was carried out in the field. The soil was graded 2 and a special pit was excavated to allow the bucket to fall to its lowest position. The machine is a W_4-60 excavator that was manufactured in 1972 and was overhauled in 1984. Test equipment used
