中国的古诗词是中华文化的象征与精华所在,它也是文学界的一朵奇葩,一直以来很受翻译界的青睐。而英译中国古诗词最具代表性的学者要数我国的翻译大家许渊冲教授了。他的英译诗词充分反映了他自身对诗词的理解,并通过“以诗译诗”、“以词译词”的方式充分体现了中国古诗词的美。本文通过选取两首最有代表性的词,即陆游的《钗头凤》和唐婉和上的《钗头凤》的翻译来探讨许渊冲教授在译词的过程中主体性的体现。
China’s ancient poetry is the symbol of Chinese culture and essence, it is also a wonderful work in literary circles, has been very much by the translation community of all ages. However, the most representative scholars who have translated English poems into ancient Chinese should include Professor Xu Yuanchong, a translator from China. His English translation of poems fully reflects his own understanding of poetry and fully embodies the beauty of ancient Chinese poetry through “translating poems with poems” and “translating words with words”. This article explores Professor Xu Yuanchong’s subjectivity reflected in the process of translating words by selecting the two most representative words, “Chai Tou Feng” by Lu You and “Chai Tou Feng” by Tang Wanhe.
