谷子是我省主要粮食作物之一.在我国栽培历史悠久.优点很多.群众说:“谷子混身宝,人畜离不了,人吃小米饭,牲畜喂谷草,谷糠猪饲料,根茬当柴烧”.充分说明谷子生产与军需民用密切相关.但有些地方片面强调谷子产量不如“两杂”高,不适当地压缩谷子面积,影响人民的粮食品种,造成牲畜缺草.目前谷子产量不高的主要原因是病虫灾害较多,旱、涝灾害侵袭和气候反常也有关系.因此,要注意抓好以下几项措施.
