罗瑞卿应当说是在解放军高级将领中同周恩来关系比较密切的一位。他们的交往主要是在新中国成立以后,但是他们相识则要追溯到红军时期。1931年底,周恩来化装成富豪,留着满脸大胡子,进入中央苏区。红军中的指战员们都亲切地称呼他“胡公”。罗瑞卿早就听说过周恩来的名字。他于1927年初进入的武汉中央军事政治学校是黄埔军校的分校。他知道周恩来正是黄埔军校的创始人
Luo Ruiqing should be said to be one of the senior PLA generals who have close ties with Zhou Enlai. Their contacts are mainly after the founding of New China, but their acquaintance goes back to the period of the Red Army.
