训诂学在清代取得了辉煌成就,其中高邮王念孙、王引之父子更是成就非凡。《经义述闻》是王引之的代表作之一,其中并合有此父子二人的语言学思想。王氏父子之所以能在训诂方面取得如此巨大之成就,这与他们采用科学的训诂方法是分不开的。其中之一便是将统计方法运用于其具体的训诂实践。《经义述闻》中,王氏父子用统计方法明词义之是非、辨用字之讹误、证文字之脱衍,解决了训诂方面的许多疑难问题。
