Objective To investigate the anti-oxidative effects of different doses of Rana changyu granules on microwave radiation in rats under overweight environment, and to provide basis for the research and development of Rana oil. Methods Wistar rats were used to replicate animal model of overweight environment and microwave radiation. Intervention was made with high, medium and low dosage Rana oil granule and squalene to test the total antioxidant capacity of rats in each group. Oxidative dismutase activity, malondialdehyde content and ability to inhibit hydroxyl radicals. Results The total antioxidant capacity of low-dose Rana chensinensis oil group was significantly higher than that of the other five groups. The content of malondialdehyde in the super-radiation group was significantly higher than that in the other five groups and the inhibition of hydroxyl radical was also higher than the other five groups. Conclusions The anti-oxidative effect of low-dose compound granules formulated with 40mg Rana chinensis oil (dry weight) per day per 1 000g body weight of rats is obviously better than that of other Rana oil capsules and squalene capsules.
