Successful translation is a difficult undertaking, and the differences between languages and cultures place many insurmountable obstacles for successful translators. A great deal of effective research has been done on the translation of various monographs and on various translation techniques and aspects. However, this study analyzes the translation scope and characteristics of monographs as the exchange of information between languages. The purpose of this article is to make a preliminary assessment of the nature of this exchange, based on the statistical information provided by UNESCO, UNESCO, and UNESCO.
