引言就普通相控阵天线而言,为了改变波束方向,要求横跨阵列有一相位梯度,而这是通过改变各个分立元件的相位来实现的。本文介绍的电扫描方法采用改变由人造介质构成的透镜的折射指数的原理。采用这种方法就取消了分立的移相器,而相位控制完全分布在由二极管控制的人造介质构成的辐射透镜口径内。人造介质主要由线柵构成,而线柵包含许多连接在一起的二极管。通过在正偏压和反偏压之间变换就可产生所需的折射指数变化。
Introduction In the case of conventional phased array antennas, a phase gradient across the array is required in order to change the beam direction, which is achieved by varying the phase of the individual discrete components. The scanning method described in this paper uses the principle of changing the refractive index of a lens made of an artificial medium. With this method, the separate phase shifter is eliminated and the phase control is completely distributed within the aperture of the radiating lens formed by the diode-controlled artificial medium. Man-made media consists mainly of wire grids, which contain many diodes that are connected together. The desired change in refractive index can be produced by switching between positive and negative bias.
