I. Basic Information In January 2011, the import and export of steel products in China increased by 16.44% and 9.3% respectively from the previous month in December last year. The import of steel products increased substantially by 21.8% over the same period of previous year. January iron ore import recorded a record monthly import volume of 68.901 million tons, an increase of 18.97% from the previous month and an increase of 47.9% over the same period of last year. The average unit price of iron ore imports hit a new high of 151.41 US dollars / ton in the latest two years, which is in line with the historical record of 154.45 USD / tonne is only 3 USD / tonne.
