Pine wilt disease is the most serious disease of Pinus thunbergii and P.densiflora native to Japan in Japan (Mamiya 1984). Pathogenic nematodes Bursaphelenchus xylophilus (= B. lognico-lus) in the United States of America Pseudes P.sylvestris and Europe
