The leap-layer is assumed to consist of two isovelocity water layers. The expressions of the law on the decay of the averaged sound intensity with range are derived when the source and receiver are laid in the same isovelocity water layer or in two diffrent isovelocity water layers respectively. The results show that there is apparent depth constitution in the sound field in the leap-layer. The theoretical results agree quite well with the practical data.
