一个时代因一个人的离开而离开。施蛰存、臧克家、张岱年、陈省身、费孝通、启功、巴金……大师一个一个离去,引发的不仅是哀伤,更有对“大师时代渐行渐远”的忧思:我们的时代还能造就出这样的大师吗?在一个被称为500年来最好的时代,大师之稀缺令国人扼腕。4年前,巴金离开时,新华社的电讯说:“他的去世,是中国文学一个世纪的结束。”2009岁末,回望这一年,仍有季羡林、钱学森等一些大师、科学巨匠辞世。其实,在这个早已罕见“大师”的时代,每一位卓越的长者逝去,难免有人痛挽“最后一位×××去了”。而另有一些同样卓越的老人,同样值得尊敬和爱戴,他们也陆续离开了我们,不同的是,同样身为大师的他们,已沉寂了好多年,此番被关注,却是因为永远的离开。比如与季羡林同一天离开我们的任继愈先生,比如跟钱学森差不多同一时间去世的贝时璋院士……
