近十几年来,河套地区在以阴山岩刻国际科考、“申遗”、国际工农业及文化教育交流为主的对外交往活动中,通过翻译对外宣传河套文化成为了必不可少的内容。翻译的内容涉及面较广,成果也已达百万字。然而,学术界系统研究这些翻译活动及译文的文章却很少,只见零散的几篇论文,而且内容也未反馈给译者,用以指导其翻译实践。因此,有必要对河套文化翻译进行研究,探讨翻译原则和方法,纠正错译,引起重视,树立当地良好的对外形象,促进地区经济社会发展。同时,对今后外宣材料的英译提供一些理论与实践方面的指导。本文是对河套文化外宣翻译过程及相关译文进行的初步研究。其中的一些问题,虽放在河套文化翻译研究中讨论,但并不局限于河套文化翻译,对于任何文化外宣翻译研究都具有普遍意义。
In the recent decade or so, it has become indispensable for Hetao region to propagandize the Hetu culture through translation in the foreign exchange activities mainly based on the international examination of Yinshan Rock Carvings, the “World Heritage”, and the international exchange of industry, agriculture and culture and education content. The content of the translation involves a wide range of achievements have reached millions of words. However, there are only a few articles systematically studied by these scholars in translation activities and translations. There are only a few scattered papers, and the content is not fed back to the translators to guide their translation practice. Therefore, it is necessary to study the cultural translation of Hetao, discuss the principles and methods of translation, correct mistranslations, attract more attention, establish a good local external image and promote regional economic and social development. At the same time, it provides some guidance in theory and practice for the future translation of foreign propaganda materials. This article is a preliminary study of the translation process and related translations of Hetu culture. Some of these problems, though they are discussed in the study of cultural translation in Hetao, are not limited to Hetao’s cultural translation. They are of universal significance for any study of cultural outreach translation.
