位于武进县北部魏村公社的魏村电灌站,紧靠长江,地形起伏不大,全灌区包括8个生产大队。总耕地面积为16,500亩,实际灌溉面积为12,485亩。主要水源是从德胜河引潮灌溉。建站前,由于地势高坑,引潮灌溉困难,大部分是依靠沟塘蓄水,使用旧式提水工具提水灌溉。平时經过一垜提水上田,但一旦天旱,沟塘干枯,須从德胜河經过三、四垜車水上田。由于水源不足,都是稻、豆輪作,水稻、大豆各占一半,产量受到限制。建站后,水源有了保証,水稻面积逐年增加,今年水稻种植面积已占总耕地面积的95％左右。
The Weicun Electric Irrigation Station, located in Weicun Commune in the northern part of Wujin County, is close to the Yangtze River and has little relief. The entire irrigation area consists of 8 production brigades. The total cultivated area is 16,500 mu and the actual irrigated area is 12,485 mu. The main source of water is tidal irrigation from Desheng River. Before the construction of the station, due to the high terrain, it was difficult to irrigate the tidal water.
