Documentary production in Indonesia has only a short history. This young nation is still backward in its development of general technology, especially film technology. National films were not born until 1950, after the Dutch returned their territorial sovereignty to the government of the Republic of Indonesia, so it has so far not been able to produce a large number of films. In Indonesia, there is not enough time to develop films yet: lack of funds, lack of specialized personnel and difficulty in getting the equipment and equipment needed by the studio. The Dutch colonial authorities have never imagined the truth about the life and culture of the Indonesian people through documentary or other reporting, though Indonesia offers a wealth of possibilities for producing interesting documentaries. This is in full compliance with the policy of the colonialists that will not allow the outside world to understand the situation in Indonesia.
