终身学习社会之所以能够成为社会发展的必然趋势,是源于社会的变迁、知识的扩张、经济的发展以及人类寿命的延长等因素,并且随着终身学习社会的逐渐形成,其个性化特征也愈发显现。在这种背景下,我国正在进行的开放大学建设应该走向何方,以何种方式来满足人们个性化的终身学习需求,都是我们必须面对的问题。基于此,本文从对终身学习社会的认识出发,探讨北京开放大学的建设背景、理念、基本思路和具体实践,以期为我国学习型社会建设和开放大学建设提供借鉴。
