目前,在合金铸铁家族中,锡合金铸铁(球铁与灰口铸铁)正被世界技术发达国家所瞩目,英国的专门机构锡研究所(Tin Research Institute)曾在研究锡合金铸铁的性能与应用方面作了许多工作,研究和实践表明,锡合金铸铁使用的合金元素——锡的量较少(一般都在0.1%以下);合金化方法简单、安全、可靠(不发热、不发光、不沸腾、不衰退、不失效、不影响石墨球化效果、也不需外加孕育处理);另外,锡合金铸铁具有良好的综合性能(尤其是耐磨性与热稳定性),因此,它是一种有前途的机械工程材料。本文对近年来国外锡合金铸铁的研究与应用成果作一综述;对锡强化铸铁的机理作扼要的探讨。
