A method for the determination of trace amounts of copper and iron in azide resin by petroleum ether dissolved sample, nitric acid (1 +99) extraction and flame atomic absorption spectrometry was proposed. The relative standard deviations of copper and iron were less than 4.5% and the recoveries were between 97.0% and 102.0%. The results were satisfactory
