Dzerzhinsky Steel developed and adopted a device for cleaning the cells in the 200 and 400-ton hearth regenerators. This device cleans sediment on the checkerboard by supplying a high pressure air-water mixture from three nozzles (the number of nozzles increases when two layers are provided). The distance between the nozzle centerlines is equal to the distance between the centerlines of the cells. The concentric outer tube a (see picture) which can supply 4 ~ 5 atmospheres of high pressure water and the inner tube б which is connected with compressed air from the main line for the same pressure are respectively connected to the headers B and r. Through these two header water atomized by compressed air back
