济南铁路局广播电视大学始建于1979年元月。初始,校名为济南铁路局电视大学函授工作站,分别在济南、青岛、徐州三个分局设立了电大辅导站。1985年9月经山东省教育厅批准正式成立山东广播电视大学济南铁路局分校,1986年下半年迁入现在的校址。1993年5月经省教委批准,更名为济南铁路局广播电视大学。 学校占地面积40.36亩,建筑面积27085平方米,固定资产254万元,图书馆藏书5.5万册,各专业课及专业基础课都有自己的实验室和配套的教学设施,有3个标准化计算机室,配有100余台微机,1个多媒体电化教室和多媒体微机室,实现了计算机校内联网。
