长征时,中国工农红军一方面军第一军团二师四团先后由耿飚、卢子美、黄开湘任团长,杨成武任政治委员。红四团在长征中经常担负先头开路任务,在强渡乌江、飞夺泸定桥、突破腊子口等对全局具有重大影响的战斗中,红四团都出色地完成了任务。杨成武同志生前在《忆长征》一书中,详尽回忆了红四团的长征经历。本栏目选登的是红四团在遵义会议召开前后的有关片段——
During the Long March, the Fourth Corps of the First Corps of the First Corps of the Workers ’and Peasants’ Red Army, successively headed by Geng Biao, Lu Zimei, Huang Kaixiang, and Yang Chengwu, served as political commissar. The Red Squadron often took the lead in the long march. In the battle of ferrying the Wujiang River, flying the Luding Bridge, breaking through the Laozikou and other major influences on the overall situation, the Red Fourth Regiment accomplished the task well. During his lifetime in “Recruiting Long March,” Comrade Yang Chengwu had a detailed memory of the Long March experience of the Red Fourth Mission.
