Using Technology to Support Cotton Production Zhijiang County, a cotton company in Zhijiang County, is the main cotton-producing county in Hubei Province. Since 1990, it took the lead in the country to sell double-jin of mu-cotton lint and has achieved a bumper harvest for five consecutive years. In 1994, droughts, floods and pest crises were complicated and disaster-prone. Cotton farmers used science and technology to actively fight the disaster. The county has 204,000 mu of cotton fields and produces an average of 98 kilograms of lint and a total output of 20,000 tons of cotton.
