On September 29, 2016, a high-level forum on soil and water conservation and ecological civilization in Tibet was held in Lhasa. Minister of Water Resources Chen Lei sent a written speech. Wang Haizhou, Vice Chairman of People’s Government of Tibet Autonomous Region, addressed the forum and delivered a speech. Wu Bin, secretary general of China Society of Soil and Water Conservation forum. Academician Wang Guangqian and Cui Peng made special reports separately. Academician Yao Tan-dong sent a special report to the forum. Experts focused on the topic of “Soil and Water Conservation and Ecological Civilization Building in Tibet” and freely expressed their views, exchanged views and discussions, and made contributions to the work of soil and water conservation in Tibet Offer advice. In his speech, Chen Lei pointed out: Tibet has carried out comprehensive management of soil and water loss and clean-up of small watersheds, promoted the construction of a water-saving society and effectively protected the ecological environment of rivers and lakes and achieved remarkable results.
