宋明时期理学之士因各种原因纷纷入桂,并创作了大量诗歌。这些诗以记游抒怀和赠别送离为主。赠别诗忧而不伤,风格健朗;民生题材的诗关注民瘼,体现了诗人仁者情怀;贬谪类诗怨而不怒,温柔敦厚,反映了诗人在内容上重视“性情之正”的心态。在结构上,这些诗往往遵循写景、抒情、说理的逻辑顺序,体现了“以理为诗”的结构特征。作为有官方哲学背景的宋明入桂理学之士的诗歌,体现了理学文学观和审美追求,这对当时广西诗坛的格局和发展趋势产生了深远的影响。
