The English Curriculum Standards promulgated by the Ministry of Education and Education in 2001 explicitly pointed out that the overall goal of the English curriculum in the basic education stage is the comprehensive language application ability of the students. The formation of the comprehensive language application ability is based on students’ language skills, language knowledge, sensibility, and learning strategies.
