2014年3月1日,《上海日报》推出全新版式,独特的竖版报头设计突破窠臼,获得了读者和媒体业内人士的好评。(相关版面图片见封二)深圳大学传媒学院特聘教授、英文《深圳日报》原总编辑辜晓进评论说:“《上海日报》现在一跃成为最大胆的版式”。改版之后随即碰到马航MH370失联事件,《上海日报》对这一事件报道的版面被海外网友在推特上广为传播,并获得赞誉。
