ITIL gives CIOs a process and core framework for managing IT. In early 2002, Jim McGrane, now Mead’s vice president of Process Development, was merged with Mead and Westvaco, the two largest U.S. forest products and packaging companies, and was appointed CIO of the new company and was entrusted with the task - using SAP’s system as Carrier, MeadWestvaco, which has $ 7.2 billion in assets. Four years ago, McGrane had redesigned Mead’s order management and financial processes and had extensive experience in process reengineering, so it is up to him to take up this challenging new job.
