1952年9月,新疆石河子市耸立起一座被称为“军垦第一楼”的建筑——“军垦博物馆”。有人曾形象地说,戈壁明珠——石河子作为军垦城,本身就是一部堪称雄浑的交响乐章。由此我想,城建初期那段历史,无疑应是这部堪称“军垦交响乐”的动听序曲。想当年,艰苦岁月,人们稔熟的名子,就像那美妙的音符,一串又一串:王震、陶峙岳、赵锡光、张仲瀚……他们作为这部交响乐的早期指挥者,其英名早已深深镌刻于大家心中。如今,当人们每每谈起石城初建的历史,总会想到另外一个人,曾在当年创业中担任过重要“角色”、现已92岁的世纪老人,他就是现任新疆黄埔同学会会长:
