广东省梅州市人大代表、兴宁县台联车队(个体)经理王祥柯,致富不忘社会公益事业,竭诚尽力关心、支持图书馆事业,于4月底慷慨捐资一千元人民币给该馆购书。在此之前,王祥柯两次捐资两千元给他的家乡——兴宁县泥陂镇图书室购书、电风扇等设备,其中“红岩”、“青春之歌”、“钢铁是怎样炼成的”等名著及一批科技书籍。对他的母校——日新小学,于90年2月间先后捐资近10万元进行修建、购置教具、设“奖教奖学金”,赠给学校图书室一大批书籍,建起了一个颇具特色的“繁平书苑”,为广大师生读书学习,增长知识提供了方便的条件。
