北朝时期,定州区佛教非常兴盛,造像活动也极为发达。从目前的资料来有,定州区佛教造像不仅存世数量多,全国首屈一指;而且极具地方特色,有自己独特的造像题材和典型的装饰纹样持莲观世音像、太和期带光背双狮铜佛像、半跏思维等萨像、双尊佛立像、盘龙双树龛像等部是定州区佛像中最有代表性的作品,也是中国佛教雕刻史上的奇葩。
During the Northern Dynasties, Buddhism in Dingzhou was very flourishing and the statues were extremely developed. From the current data, Dingzhou Buddhist statues not only the number of surviving a number of the country’s premier; and very local characteristics, has its own unique statues subject matter and typical decorative patterns with Lian Guanshiyin, Taihe period with light back Shuang lion copper Buddhist statues, semi-meditative thinking and other salads, statues of double statues and statues of statues of Panlong double statues are the most representative works of Buddhist statues in Dingzhou District. They are also wonderful works in the history of Chinese Buddhist sculptures.
