Jeffrey Garten, Dean of the School of Management at Yale University in the United States, wrote in the US Business Week on July 25th, 2005. Behind the plans for the expansion of Chinese multinational companies such as CNOOC and Haier, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East are implied. Emerging blue chip companies challenge the old multinational corporations in the United States and Europe. In the past, multinational corporations in the United States ruled the global market, so the United States boycotted most of the formal international business regulations. Now, the challenge from emerging multinational corporations means that the dominant position of multinational corporations in the United States and Europe is no longer stable. It seems that the U.S. should be still influential.
