編輯同志: 人民教育二月號發表了我校薛居特同學寫給教育部高教司的一封信,同時又發表了‘必須用本國語言進行教學’的短評,這些意見我非常贊成。在高等學校課程改革的决定已經颁佈了一年零四個月的今天,還存在這樣嚴重的問題,是應該引起我們足够重視的。這個問題的本身是人民思想和敵人思想的鬥爭問題。薛居特同學反映的是我們班上發生的事情,經過是這樣的:由於直流電機這門課英文課本比較難懂,看書很吃力,有的同學說:‘全段的單字都懂了,還摸不清說的是什麽道理。’莊秉常教授準備在課堂上寫筆記和印發講義,上課時徵求同學意見說:‘用中文寫,還是用英文寫?’課代表陳秉堃同學(青年團員)完全肯定地回答說:‘用英文寫吧!’當堂和課後就發生了爭執。薛居特同學當時
