党的报刊,对于实际工作和人民生活所发挥的作用,是无可怀疑的。而一张党报,要做到“较为引人看,内容也不错”,却不是一件容易的事情。在我们的报纸上,老一套的、像是一个模子里脱出来的文章,语汇贫乏,生硬呆板,翻来复去光是那么几个词儿的新闻八股,和内容芜杂,不文不白,晦涩难懂的东西,还不在少数。这些东西,引不起人们的兴趣,看了头疼,而且看过就忘。钢铁煤炭要求质量,新闻报道也应该要求质量。一些质量不高的东西,充斥于报纸的版面上,必然要影响它进一步发挥组织、鼓舞、激励、批判、推动的作用。这样看起来,改变报纸的这种状况,整顿报纸的文风,就不是单纯的写作和编排的技
